Self-Care Sonata in D Minor

"A snake prefers their victim to not inject an antidote that counteracts their poisonous venom"

- A Charisse Parker Original Quote

This was my response to being asked if it was wrong to cut ties with a person causing chaos in the lives of a "friend". The person that asked went on to share how the person was not receptive of. them "injecting reason and accountability"....... Interject may have been grammatically more appropriate but inject sheds a different light.

When a poisonous snake ( literal and figuratively) bites it's victim, there is an expected result- harm, pain, chaos and death. Unless there is some type of "medical" intervention immediately, death or at the least extreme pain is imminent. There are times in our lives where we MUST intervene on our own behalf. You may have previously or presently have been in or be in a similar situation yet feel the snake analogy is too much. Self-Care means being a better, more true friend to oneself than to anyone else, especially when they are not mindful of their own well-being, let alone yours. Step it up a notch and practice self-care in all areas of your life. Stop waiting to exhale and embrace each breath you are blessed with.
